Down on the Farm

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

I was re-reading two favorite farm books recently and wanted to share them with you.  Not only are these titles delightful, but they have some great websites associated with them.

Tillie Lays an Egg by Terry Golson with photography by Ben Fink.  Check out Golson’s website, www.hencam.com, for a live video of her chickens and more about the author.

Our Farm: By the Animals of Farm Sanctuary by Maya Gottfried and paintings by Robert Rahway Zakanitch.  Learn all about Farm Sanctuary at www.farmsanctuary.org.

Authors, Authors, Authors

Monday, February 20th, 2012

This weekend I had the chance to hear from and talk to a number of children’s book authors (both local and from around the country) about some of their new and upcoming books!  Among them were Augusta Scattergood, Jane O’Connor (best known for Fancy Nancy), Katherine Applegate (her new book is The One and Only Ivan), David Small (his new book is One Cool Friend), Sarah Stewart, and Gordon Korman.  It was such a thrill!  If you haven’t had a chance to read the work these authors have done, I highly recommend it!  Look for their new titles soon!
