Back-to-School

Summer has been wonderful at the library.  We had over 1,700 kids from birth through age 11 get prizes for reading!

Now, we are thinking about fall and going back to school.  Stop by the Back-to-School book rack by the Children’s desk for some great school time titles!

Golden Ticket Scholastic Book Fair

Paws to Read,  our Summer Reading Club, is nearing the finish line.  Participants have until Saturday to turn in reading for prizes.

If you are between the ages of 5 and 11 and have completed your 15 hours of reading, don’t forget to stop by the Scholastic Book Fair with your golden ticket!  The Book Fair will be held in the Large Meeting in the Lower Level of the library.

Inside Out and Back Again

In an incredibly powerful novel in verse, a young girl is forced to leave her home in Vietnam and start over in Alabama in 1975.  Inside Out and Back Again, by Thanhha Lai, conveys great emotion and follows the author’s own story.
