Read, Watch and Discuss
Has your book discussion group ever read a book and watched the movie and then discussed both of them? Sometimes this is a nice alternative for a group and can renew interest. If you like to read classics once in awhile, PBS’ Masterpiece has a good selection of films with discussion guides. Check out their Book & Film Club Guides here.
The library owns many of these films on dvd. The films include Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre; several adaptations of Jane Austen’s works; Henning Mankell’s Wallander series; and The Diary of Anne Frank.
